The sun is setting in my life. I am now a old man with a tail that you won't believe. I am someone that few know about. I am someone that some here have spoke too but think of me as no one in the storied history of the Tucker.
The Tucker Conv does exist. The history behind it is wonderful. There are a few of us that know where it is. The family knows about the car!

Son there is a reason that no one has much if any info on this car.
With all the problems that the Gov. was giving them when these cars were being made, to shut them down eventually as we all know, it was thought that if a conv model was known to have been in the works, and the company felt it would have really turned the car industry upside down, that they may never have any chance of keeping the car line alive. They knew the conv version was something special. So they decided to keep the car a secret and never allowed but a few, I mean a few, to know of it. The car was one of the orig units that were made, 1009c (c for conv) and taken out of the plant and relocated to a shop to convert it.
As for pictures. Well that is part of the orig promise about the car. To date not one photo of the car is known to exist. The small group that knew of the car have kept it under wraps all these many years. American history kept to a select few.
Thre are only 2 of us left today. We both are here on this site now.

I have have been a silent person on this site for some time. I have watched all of the members here speculate about this for a long time. I thought it was time to give up the life of this car some and still keep the promise made so many years ago.
This is all I really can say at this time on this 1009c car. Next year you should look for a very special time in American automotive history to unfold with a top auction house in this country.

Sorry, but I have seen pictures of the convertable recently, and it is patently obvious to me that the car is a reworked sedan body. A brief history of the car can be found in this thread: http://tuckerclub.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=489

The Days Are Numbered

Postby plancor 792 » Mon Jan 29, 2007 12:46 pm

Why are some unwilling to admit who the figure is behind this so called convertible. He has attempted to build a Tucker convertible out of parts he "acquired", not all were purchased nor were they given to him through the years and if he or his "agent" can convince us that it was built by Tucker, the value would be greatly increased. I know him and know him well. Initials are A. R.
I was a close friend of Alex Tremulis and he claimed that no such vehicle was built by Tucker. And that is good enough for me. I also knew, corresponded and met 2 of Tucker's sons. John and Preston Jr. I also corresponded with Knoble. None of them knew about a convertible. John was into high speed boats and when he had the opportunity to purchase Tucker 1014 he paid for the car and immediately turned the keys over to Francis Ford Coppola. Coppola gave him the money to purchase the car and was there when the transaction was made. So much for the Tucker family.
So let's see the proof. I'm tired of seeing this crap go on and on. Either you have it or you don't. I say you don't have any proof that is was built by Tucker Corporation. Prove me wrong.
